That’s why we remain committed to using new methods for reducing, repurposing and upcycling waste to effectively manage our resources – all to create a more sustainable process for bringing restorative rest to people around the world. Our Lexington, Kentucky, Headquarters is a LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) establishment recognized for offering a healthy, productive, and energy-efficient work environment. And, our facility in Duffield, Virginia, achieved the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Challenge, reducing nearly 3,800 tons of greenhouse emissions each year and saving enough energy to power over 500 homes.

Throughout the next year, as we continue to develop groundbreaking sleep innovations, we’re also excited to announce our newest investment in the environment—the implementation of solar power technology at our largest mattress manufacturing plant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once completed, all the mattress assembly lines within the plant will run on sustainable, renewable energy — ultimately reducing our carbon footprint. Our new solar power system is expected to replace approximately 2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from a public utility. With the success of implementing other renewable energy projects, we’re excited to see the impact of what’s to come.
