Environmental Impact

In 2021, we increased the percentage of recycled waste in our U.S. manufacturing operations from 3% to 94%. We also broadened our 2022 zero-landfill goal to include our Canadian and Mexican manufacturing operations and achieved an 8.4% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in our global wholly owned manufacturing and shipping operations. In addition to harnessing solar energy at our Albuquerque facility, we also began the process of installing solar panels at our Dan-Foam facility in Denmark with a projected completion date in late 2022. Our transition to solar energy meaningfully contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, keeping us on track to achieve our goal of carbon neutrality by 2040.

Social Responsibility

The Tempur Sealy Foundation recently made its largest contribution yet by gifting $2 million to support the establishment of the Tempur Sealy Pediatric Sleep Center at Kentucky Children's Hospital. The Foundation has also donated over $100 million in products, funding, and stock over the last ten years.

Governance Initiatives

The recent establishment of the Nominating and Corporate Governance (NCG) Committee will oversee our environmental, social, and governance practices and positions going forward – and the appointment of an executive sponsor will drive ESG initiatives across our global organization. We also proudly increased the ratio of female representation on our Board of Directors by 50%.
